Montatura Direct Drive Mount DDM60

The DDM60 is the portable model of DDM series of Austrian high-tech forge ASA

In the smallest ASA Montierungsmodell special emphasis on portability and stability (4 tapered roller bearing) was placed. This is reflected in the low weight of the graticule again (19kg without the counterweight bar). The built Einnordungslaser and special software allow an exact placing of the mount in just a few minutes. Even in the dark a safe and fast telescope mounting is possible by the sophisticated Teleskopmontierungsplatte.

Since direct drives usually have a very high power consumption, a special direct drive for the mounts was developed by ASA and a major engine manufacturers. This makes enough for operating the DDM60 a 12V car battery completely out. Even with fast positioning drives only one to two amps are usually required.

The DDM60 is available as a standard version and a PRO version. The PRO version has a USB hub in the DEC axis and two isolated lines (0 to 48 volt variable) in order to provide telescopic instruments, such as camera or filter wheel with power. An additional data line can eg be used for serial data transfer. All lines are routed through the hollow axis of the mount so that the usual "clutter" can be prevented.
