The camera is equipped with a powerful CMOS chip. This is characterized by extremely low noise with high photosensitivity . The resolution corresponds to the level of a comparable CCD chip. However, the CMOS has a lower power consumption and is also cheaper.
The camera does not require an external power supply. Power is supplied via the USB cable included in the delivery. A standard RJ-12 autoguider cable is also included. This works eg with the controls Koch FS2, Vixen StarBook, Sky-Watcher SynScan, Celestron NexStar, Losmandy Standard and Gemini (also older versions), Takahashi Temma, Astrophysics, Pulsar and many more.
For autoguiding we recommend the ASCOM-compatible software packages MSB AstroArt, PHD or MaxIm DL. For the recording operation the ALccd-QHY own software EZPlanetary.
The small pixel size also allows high-resolution images at a lower focal length without having to use a Barlow lens.
The camera has a 1.25 "socket, but since the camera body itself is sufficient for this size, it can be plugged directly into the focuser.
